Couple of hours old...

After trying out the water colors couple days ago, I decided to keep experimenting with it. So I went out and bought myself a Koi Pocket Field Sketch box(awesome!) and a water color pad. I got the chance to take the things around today. I just returned from a baptism after party and sketched a bit, just to mess with the water colors. I began getting the hang of it, The buzz from the drinks gave me enough courage to select colors and apply it on the page without being cautious of where to place the brush. I was no longer in control of the sketch, I just let my instincts pull the image together. Luckily, I gave myself a limit on drinks; just so I can masterfully avoid getting a d.u.i.! If a limit wasn't placed, the pages would be drenched in water and would eventually curl themselves up once dry. I didn't plan to include that rough beginning sketch in here, but what the hell. Don't drink and post.

Couple of days old...

I was gonna post this the same night I posted that first blog, but my futon wanted me to have some alone time with it. The next day I had begun to try again. I got as far as to scan the images in, but was then visited by my cousin who had brought over his "glow in the dark" Ouija board. We talked on the phone the day before on how he had just purchased it and began speaking with spirits, including his great grandpa....I should really post these images instead of talking about that day. Here's some stuff I did over at Pricilla’s cafe. Miguel Puga brought along his "Mickey mouse" watercolor set so I was excited to use that. I haven't touched the medium since high school, but as I began bringing in color to the sketches, it was as if I stepped into a time portal to when I was a little boy coloring away on loose pages. It really was some awesome fun...even though I was horrible at it.

Welcome!

Hello people,

This here is my first post, and I have absolutely no idea on how to start it! Well my name is Tony Mendez and I hope you enjoy your brief stay at my blog as you travel across many other profiles and head back out to the world wide web highway and hitch your way to other websites. I am hoping to "grow" from the feedback on here if i receive any. Currently, i have found myself in a rut in my ways of drawing. So i thought it would be interesting to hopefully blog my way out of it by posting my thoughts and what not.

Here's an ink drawing I did in my sketchbook a couple of months ago. I'm in the process of giving it some color in photoshop; I'll post that up when it's finished. I'm still debating over colors.
